Love

Laugh at me if you will but I was listening to BBC Radio 2 & on the programme I was listening to there was a part of the programme called, Thought for the day, which basically is someone mainly of a religious view giving his/her thought for the day & the person in question read out the beginning words from the film Love Actully.

Having been in & out of quite a few airports this year seeing friends & family off & back again & having recently married I decided to listen to the words mentioned above & they have some meaning to me so allow me to write them down & show them here for all to see.

"Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world I think about arrivals gates at airports. General opinion makes out that we live in a world of hatred & greed but I don't see that. Seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it's not particuly dignified or news worthybut it's always there. Fathers & Sons, Mothers & Daughters, Husbands & Wives, Boyfriends & Girlfriends, Old friends. When the airplanes hit the Twin Towers none of the telephone calls from those on board were messages of hate or revenge they were all messages of love. If you look for it I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actully is all around.

Loving An Object?

A few years ago I visited Paris for the first time & the first time I saw The Eiffel Tower some hold came over me & since that second that Tower has had a pull on me.

Now I have many photographs, books & ornaments of the Tower which I like to visit at least once a year & can think of nothing better than sitting in the parks around the Tower on a Sunny day knowing the Tower is looking down at me.

I ask myself is it right to love an inaminate object so much?

Live in the now.

This weekend through various sites on the Internet I met two of my online American friends.

I started out nervous as we can all be someone on the Net & not what others expect in the flesh so to say. As the weekend evoloved I went through many emotions from happiness at laughing at a comedy club where my friends were the main topic of discussion by the acts!! A real sadness & tearful goodbye as we all went back to our hum drum lives many miles & contonents apart.

The one thing that struck home to me was no matter what the situation was/is my American friends seemed to find a positive out of any negative which really impressed me. The amount of times I have found myself feeling sorry for things I'd done in the past & worrying about the future & through it all as Wayne Campbell said in Wayne's World, "Live in the now.", which I will take on board & try to do as best I can.

They say travel broadens the mind well meeting folk from other places also helps the mind as well I think?
